Your team number
It moves with how you play.
Your team gets one number, weighted toward the better player — a scramble gives you two swings at everything. Round 1 is locked exactly as posted. From Round 2 on it follows how your team actually played, and your own handicap is never touched by a scramble.
Same field
You only have to beat teams at your level.
Your two handicaps make one team number, and that number decides which teams you're racing — so a pair of 6s and a pair of 22s both have something to play for on the same Sunday. Honest scores clear without a word.
